We took the advice of our patients and decided to travel through Italy by train instead of booking with a tour group. It was a wonderful trip. Travel by train is simple even if you don't speak Italian. Going solo allowed us to cover an extensive itinerary in 2 weeks while still allowing plentiful time at points of interest. Most sights are in walking distance. Walking allows for an immersion in the history and art present at every turn. Each city is a worthy destination for an entire vacation, there is so much to see.
