On April 25, 2003 we arrived in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. We spent several days touring Cotopaxi national park and climbed Cotopaxi Volcano, the worlds highest active volcano. We visited La Mitad Del Mundo, the middle of the world, and stood directly on the equator. We departed Quito and flew to Guayaquil then to Galapagos Islands. We spent ten days exploring seven islands aboard the Flamingo. These islands are from a forgotten time. The animals have no fear of humans. In time we learned not to fear the animals.
